What is FEAST?
The Full Story
FEAST brings the fun to the school holidays, offering loads of different activities for everyone to take part in.
All children and young people across North Yorkshire can get involved in a range of sessions, with free places and a free lunch for children and young people on benefits-related Free School Meals.
There is so much to choose from – come and take a look at what’s on.
Food. Entertainment. Arts. Sport. Together.
FEAST is here to help families throughout the school holidays, by providing food and things to do without adding to the growing pressure on income.
FEAST is open to all children and young people in North Yorkshire, and is free to families eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals.
Eligible families will have received a letter with more information about FEAST and a code to claim their free place. If you’re registered for benefits-related Free School Meals and don’t have your code, don’t worry – get in touch and we can help.
Information for Families
School holidays can be pressure points for many families. In response, the Department for Education is providing local authorities with funding to coordinate a holiday programme combining healthy food and enriching activities for children and young people who get benefits-related Free School Meals.
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme aims to reduce the opportunity gap and offer eligible children the chance to take part in fun and enriching activities over the school holidays. You can find out more about HAF in a brilliant video starring Marcus Rashford MBE below.
North Yorkshire County Council has commissioned North Yorkshire Together, a partnership between Rural Arts, North Yorkshire Sport and North Yorkshire Youth, as lead provider for HAF in North Yorkshire, which is called FEAST: ‘Food, Entertainment, Arts and Sport – Together’.
Activity sessions are available to all children and young people in North Yorkshire, and are free to children and young people eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals.
Everyone eligible will receive information about FEAST.
